How do you extract albumin from plasma? – Phenomenex

You can try to extract albumin using Strata XL. It is a large pore, large particle reversed phase SPE sorbent that will be able to retain albumin.

To a Strata™-XL 60 mg cartridge,

Condition/Equilibrate with 1 mL acetonitrile and then deionized water

Load 250 µL plasma diluted with 500 µL deionized water

Wash with 2x 1 mL deionized water

Dry cartridge on full vacuum for 10 minutes

Elute with 2x 600 µL of acetonitrile/water with 1 % formic acid(70:30)
