How do you pretreat cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)?

Cerebrospinal fluid is similar to plasma but does not contain as many proteins and enzymes as blood plasma.  A simple dilution with a pH 6 phosphate buffer or deionized water is sufficient sample pretreatment prior to SPE.
