How do you extract glucuronic acid from plasma?

You can extract glucuronic acid from plasma using Strata X-A.  As sample pretreatment, you can dilute the plasma sample 1:1 with DI water.  Then the sample can undergo SPE following the procedure described below:

To a Strata X-A cartridge,

Condition/equilibrate with 4 bed volumes of methanol, followed by DI water

Load the pretreated sample at 1 mL/min

Wash with 4 bed volumes of DI water, followed by methanol

Dry cartridge on full vacuum for 10 min

Elute with 4-8 bed volumes of 5% formic acid solution

Please be sure to collect and analyze the load and wash fractions to monitor analyte movement during method development.  This method can be further optimized based on the initial results.
