Diluting samples in the EZ:faast kit protocol is useful if concentration is outside of the standard curve (i.e. 200 nmol/mL). The optimal way is to dilute before, e.g. process 50 μL of sample instead of 100 μL.
Alternatively, the following can be performed:
- For GC kits, change split ratio instead of 15:1,30:1,40:1
- Dilute with dissolution solution for MS, though this will also decrease internal standard (so only if 4x)
- For LC/MS, inject 1 μL instead of 2 μL
