How can I reduce peak fronting in GC?

Peak fronting can occur when one or more of the compounds injected on the column exceeds the capacity of the liquid phase of the column. The thinner the liquid-phase film, the less of each compound can be retained by the column.

To prevent fronting, reduce the injection volume, increase the split ratio, or inject a less concentrated sample.
